Fertility Acupuncture
In some ways, one could argue there is no such thing as Fertility Acupuncture as I treat everyone as an individual and cater to their specific needs. The danger of having an umbrella term such as ‘Fertility Acupuncture’ is that one follows protocols that are very general and non-specific and therefore won’t, in many cases, treat the root cause of infertility.
However, having worked with many couples and individuals on their fertility journey, I have built a solid foundation in terms of knowledge and understanding of the process and ways of increasing chances of success through regular acupuncture.
This also applies to couples and individuals who choose IVF, as regular acupuncture can support them throughout the process. Treatment aims to nourish the uterus, improve blood flow to the area, and minimise uterine contractions after embryo transfer. As with all fertility acupuncture, this is just a general aim, and treatment is always tailored to each person’s individual needs.
It is important to mention that there is a huge emotional element with anyone experiencing fertility issues. Acupuncture addresses this beautifully through calming the mind, settling the spirit and reducing the feelings of anxiety and worry.
Your Initial Fertility Consultation would include an in-depth discussion, followed by an acupuncture treatment based on what was discussed and through my own diagnosis of the patient. After the session, a follow up letter will be sent to you with an outline of what was discussed and a plan going forward. In addition, information will be included with suggestions relating to diet, lifestyle & exercise, and further testing if needed.

Acupuncture Treatment in Edinburgh
My clinic is in the New Town in a beautiful building with rooftop views of Edinburgh. It is easily accessible via bus and if travelling by car, parking is easy to find. My room is on the 3rd floor so you can choose to either walk up the stairs or there is a lift next to reception which opens up just outside my room (number 54).
My clinic days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but I can have flexibility with other days, if needed.
